Bradford - "The fact that our heart yearns for something earth can't supply is proof that Heaven must be our home." - C. S. LewisMaria Stuart, of Bradford, MA, 38, passed into the arms of her loving Savior on April 5, 2024, after a valiant battle with a long illness. A 2007 communications and theatre arts graduate of Gordon College, Maria's career was in restaurants and hospitality, but her true gift was an endless well of compassion for everyone around her. Maria was, in the tradition of Tolstoy and Dostoevsky (whose works she adored), a heartbroken idealist - always trying to love this world, but always sorrowing over it too. It could have made her bitter, but instead it made her unfailingly, endlessly, and stubbornly kind. Maria was no stranger to love, and leaves behind her devoted parents, seven siblings, many nieces and nephews (with whom she was a reliable partner in sly jokes and food sneaking), and faithful companion and supercat Blueberry.She accomplished in her too-short life what most people never do: she let grief and pain carve her into something more grateful; more welcoming of silliness and magic; more committed to laughter and to prayer; and with the good sense to feel awe at wildflowers, squirrels, hymns, and ripe berries. In her memory, be foolishly generous, naively compassionate, and outrageously kind.A private family memorial will be held in May at Linebrook Parish Church, Ipswich.

Weymouth - Doris W. Parthum, 95, of Braintree, MA, and former resident of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at John Scott House in Braintree. She was the daughter of the late Anna (Lutz) and Herbert W. Parthum.Born and raised in Lawrence, MA, Doris graduated from Lawrence High School, class of 1945. She also received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Radcliffe College in Cambridge, MA, in 1949. She was a medical technologist at Mass General Hospital and later was a supervisor of Anatomical Pathology at Tufts Medical Center until her retirement in 1993.Each year, Doris looked forward to her great travel adventures to many places around the world, without perhaps one being her favorite. She also loved spending time at the beautiful lakes of Pelham, NH.In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her brother, Herbert Parthum; sister-in-law, Claire Parthum; and her dear friend, Ida Leone.Doris is survived by and will be greatly missed by her nephew, H. North Andover - David "Dave" Christensen Jr., 75, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024, at the Massachusetts General Hospital.He was the beloved son of David Christensen and the late Marian Christensen (Peavey) and a lifelong native of the Merrimac Valley.Born in Methuen on May 26, 1948, David was the oldest of 5 children. He attended St. Patrick Elementary School and Central Catholic High School.David enlisted in the Navy in August 1967. Stationed in Long Beach, California, he served proudly on the USS Marsh until his honorable discharge several years later. He received the National Defense Service Medal during his enlistment.For most of his career, David was employed by the American Automobile Association (AAA) of Merrimack Valley. He worked predominately in the Road Service Division until his retirement in 2012. Progressive health issues developed during the last decade of his life and he spent the last 5 years at the Sutton Hill Nursing facilityDave was a lifelong avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time on the river fishing with his friends for most of his life. He also was a sports enthusiast and cheered for the Patriots and Red Sox for decades.David will be greatly missed by his father, David Christensen of North Andover, MA, his sisters Mary Christensen of Bradford, MA, Donna Dec of Weston, MA, and his brother Donald Christensen of Lowell, MA as well as his three grandchildren- Jarod Christensen of Nashville, TN, Sarah Dec of Arlington, VA and Jonathan Dec of Newark, NJ.In lieu of flowers, charitable donations should be made to St. Michael's Church, Main Street, North Andover, MA.There will be a private Christian burial service at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in North Andover.

Methuen - Peter A. Messina, 80, of Methuen, MA, passed away on April 20, 2024, at Lawrence General Hospital after a sudden battle with cardiac issues.He entered the Kingdom of Heaven on his own terms surrounded by his family. He was born in Via Grande, Sicily, and was the son of the late Mauro and Carmela (Guglielimo) Messina.Peter immigrated to Lawrence, MA at the age of 11. He was a graduate of Lawrence High School and attended Lowell University. He owned and operated the Italian Kitchen on Common Street in Lawrence for many years and was known for the great food he catered, and the two niche foods they served, crispellis and rice balls. In his earlier years, Peter cooked for Holy Family Hospital, Governor Dummer Academy, and Mary Immaculate Nursing Home. He was an active member of St. Alfio's Society and served on the board for many years and was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Shrine.Besides his parents, Peter was predeceased by his daughter, Christine Bolduc and his brother-in-law, Joseph Caruso.Peter is survived by his wife, Ruth (Berthiaume) Messina; children, Andrea Garabedian and her husband, John of Methuen, MA, and Peter Messina, II of Sandown, NH; son-in-law, Paul Bolduc of Salem, NH, his sister, Josephine Caruso of Methuen, MA; brothers, Raymond Messina and his wife Joanne of Haverhill, MA and Santo Messina and his wife, Debra of Laconia, NH; and his grandchildren, Thomas, Samuel, Anna, and Faith Bolduc. Methuen - Mr. Henry E. "Big Ed" Mills, a resident of Methuen, born and raised in the Ballardvale section of Andover, passed away at the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center in Haverhill on Monday morning, April 22, 2024. He was 78 years old.Born in Andover, Massachusetts, on August 23, 1945, he was the beloved son of the late Robert and Elizabeth A. (Smith) Mills. Henry was a 1963 graduate of Punchard High School in Andover and enlisted in the US Navy. While serving in the Navy, Henry was the Commanding Officer for the Naval Reserve Manpower Center in Bainbridge, Maryland. He received his Honorable discharge from the US Naval Air Station in Norfolk, Virginia on September 22, 1966. After being discharged from the Navy, Henry married Kathleen A. (Popadak). In civilian life, Big Ed had been employed by the Andover Water Department and had worked as a Milkman, delivering locally for many years. He had also worked as a Truck Driver for 26 years and retired from POSCO in 2012.In life, Henry enjoyed watching all sports, playing cards and going to antique cars shows as well as owning several antique cars. Henry also had a deep love for all animals, especially his backyard birds. Henry was a very generous, happy man with a smile on his face and he will be dearly missed by all.Besides Kathleen and her partner, Karen Puglielli, Henry is survived by his loving daughter; Melina and her husband James Ward of Methuen, siblings; John and his wife Robin Mills of Florida and Jessie and her husband, Harold Bailey of Florida, grandchildren; Michael J. Ward and his partner, Kasia Kopcinski of Bradford, great-grandchildren; Carter J. and Kyla Rose Ward. Henry is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Christine and her husband, Larry Bruce of Epping, New Hampshire, Barbara and her husband Russell LaBarre of Andover and Roberta Mills of Fitzwilliam, NH and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Henry was also the father of the late Stephen Mills and brother of the late Dennis, Cameron and Robert Mills.Visitation will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to Noon. Dracut - Mrs. Marguerite Gertrude "Gert" (Alarie) Beaulieu, 97, of Dracut, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Bayberry at Emerald Court in Tewksbury, MA. Daughter of the late Charles and Regina (Tessier) Alarie, she was born in Lawrence on November 23, 1926, and had been an area resident for most of her life. In 2003, she and her sister Jeanette moved to Carlsbad, CA where they resided for many years. Mrs. Beaulieu moved back to the area in 2017, was a member of the former St. Anne Parish where she and her husband Paul volunteered until the church closed in 1991. Additionally, she and her husband volunteered many years at Lazarus House Ministries in Lawrence. She enjoyed bingo, gambling, was an avid reader and loved to spend time with her family. The widow of Paul E. Beaulieu, she was also predeceased by her daughter, Pamela (Beaulieu) Arrigo, sister Jeanette (Alarie) Cappellano, and brother, William "Butch" Alarie. Mrs. Beaulieu is survived by two daughters: Patricia and her husband, Joseph Schindler of Plymouth, MA, Christine and her husband, Parker Lord of N. Methuen - William J. Donovan, Sr., 87 a longtime resident of Methuen passed away unexpectedly on Thursday April 18, 2024 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA. Born and educated in Methuen, MA, he was the son of the late Jerome and Gladys (Wilkerson) Donovan. From 1956 to 1962 William served his country in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged from service. For many years he was employed with New England Telephone until his retirement. William was deeply devoted to his family. His grandchildren were his biggest joy. He enjoyed traveling, summer vacations at Salisbury beach with the family and trips to Foxwoods. He will be deeply missed by his six sons, William J. Donovan, Jr., and his wife Cheryl of Vero Beach, FL, Michael T. Donovan and his wife Lynne of Dracut, MA, Timothy J. Donovan and his wife Jayne, Christopher J. Donovan and his wife Tracy, Terrence P. Donovan and his wife Danette and Daniel F. Donovan and his wife Lora all of Methuen, MA. Kingston - William D. Whitney, 89, died on April 18, 2024, at his camp overlooking Mendums Pond in Barrington, NH, after a two-year battle with prostrate and bone cancer. He was born on May 18, 1934, in Kingston, NH; the son of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Nason) Whitney.Bill graduated from Sanborn Seminary in Kingston, NH, with the class of 1952. He worked at the Western Electric Company in Andover, MA, as a machinist and mechanic, specializing in high vacuum systems, along with production line trouble shooting and repair. Bill also worked as a contractor, remodeling and building houses mostly in the Riverside and Rocks Village districts of Haverhill, MA. In addition, he was a dealer selling Polaris Snowmobiles in Kingston, NH. Bill was a founding member of the Millvale Snow Bounders snowmobile club. However, after retirement he became a "snowbird" spending winters in Sarasota, FL, with summers at the camp on Mendums Pond.While always a fan of a fast car, boat, motorcycle, snowmobile, or dragster - "Wild Bill's" lifelong passion was flying. Bill soloed and received his private pilot's license at age 16. Throughout his life he owned and flew a variety of vintage 1940's era single propeller driven aircraft, including a Piper J-3 Cub, Convair Stinson, North American Navion, and amphibious Republic RC-3 Seabee. Often Bill flew out of old cow pastures hemmed in with tall trees, which had been converted into local grass strip airports, with no runway lights or radios and perhaps a working windsock. Sometimes the cows would reclaim the field after he took off, but if he buzzed the field a few times, they would amble to the sides and let him land. Bill never made a landing he did not walk away from.In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his sister Phyllis Crowell, and brother Robert Whitney, both lifelong residents of Kingston, NH. He is survived by his son Mark Whitney of North Attleborough, MA; his son Eric Whitney of Princeville, on the island of Kauai, HI; his daughter Jeanne Whitney of Edwards, CO, in the Vail Valley; and four grandchildren.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 2 to 4 PM at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter Road (Rt. 108), Newmarket, NH. Hampstead - Rene Joseph Dumont, Jr., 57, of Hampstead, NH longtime resident of Methuen, MA and Salem, NH, passed away on Saturday April 20, 2024, at Brigham & Women's Hospital.Born and raised in Methuen, he was the son of Marie (Goulet) Dumont and the late Rene J. Dumont, Sr., and was a graduate of the Greater Lawrence Technical School, Class of 1984.Rene was a humble man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a hard worker and jack of all trades, and family and friends often called on him for assistance. One of his passions was cooking, and he enjoyed sharing his creations with others. He was proud of his French Canadian heritage, and loved the sport of hockey, both as a player and a spectator. Above all, Rene will be remembered as a caring person who was always willing to go out of his way to help others, often without ever being asked.Family was paramount to him; he was incredibly proud of his children, and one of the greatest joys in his life was becoming a Pepere to his granddaughters.Rene will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son, Rene T. Dumont and his wife, Christine of N. North Andover - Richard A. Kapelson, 89, of North Andover, MA and Stuart, FL, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Meadows at Edgewood in North Andover.Dick was born in Lawrence on May 24, 1934, son of the late David and Jennie (Goldstein) Kapelson. He attended Lawrence Public Schools until he entered Phillips Andover, graduating in 1951 and then went on to Yale University, graduating in 1955.Following Yale, Dick entered the United States Airforce where he served his country honorably. Upon his discharge from the Airforce, Dick came back home to join in his father's business, Kaps, where he remained until the closing of the business in 2009.Along with running Kaps, Dick was heavily involved in his community, He served on numerous local boards and committees, including Lawrence General Hospital, Mary Immaculate Nursing Home, Combined Jewish Philanthropies, Edgewood Retirement Community and Bank of New England. He was a member of North Andover Country Club, The Lanam Club and Evergreen Country Club and the Masons.As everyone knew, Dick was passionate about his business and golf, but his true pleasure and joy came from his relationship with Judy, his adored wife, their children and spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren, extended family and friends.Richard is predeceased by his loving wife Judith G. (Albert) Kapelson who passed away on March 19, 2012. He is survived by his children James A. Kapelson and his wife Rhonda of North Andover, Jon E. Haverhill - Robert J. "Bob" Cantwell, 90, husband of Catherine S. "Kay" (Caggiano) Cantwell of Haverhill passed away peacefully on Friday, April 19 at the Prescott House in North Andover.Robert was born in Haverhill, the son of Bernard and Helen (O'Rourke) Cantwell. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School Class of 1952; after which he went on to study at both UMass Lowell and Suffolk University. He worked for many years as the Director for several local nursing homes, including the Don Orione Home, as well as the Hale Hospital. Robert and Catherine were long time members of Saint James Parish. Bob's greatest joy came from his family. He and his wife made their home a gathering place for family and friends and loved to entertain either poolside or during the holidays.Robert is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Catherine of Haverhill and his children Catherine Cantwell and husband Michael Young of Newburyport, Robert J. Cantwell, Jr. and wife Ruth of Berwick, ME, John R. Cantwell and wife Deborah of Bradford, Ellen F. Lagasse and husband Kevin of Plum Island and Bernard E. Cantwell and wife Deana of North Andover. Amesbury - Geraldine E. Bergeron passed away on Thursday April 18, 2024 at home after a period of declining health.She was born and raised in Lawrence, MA, daughter of the late George and Margaret (McKenna) Mallinson. She graduated from Methuen High School in 1954. After graduation, she worked at the telephone company for a number of years.She enjoyed going to the local dances at the Commodore in Lowell, MA and this is where she met her late husband, George P. Bergeron. She was a stay at home mother until her children were in school. Then she worked part time in many retail department stores. The running joke in the family was that she was responsible for Mammoth Mart, Zayres, Kings, and Yankee Bargain stores going out of business.Gerry was an avid reader and enjoyed daily crossword puzzles that were always done in ink. She faithfully watched Jeopardy and Deadline: White House on MSNBC. Many times she answered the final jeopardy question correctly.She is survived by her daughters, Amy Bergeron and Beth Bergeron; and son, Steven Bergeron. She is also survived by three grandsons, Brent Bergeron, Bryan James Bergeron, and Sean Blaisdell and his fiancée, Kayla Nelson. Additional survivors are her sisters: Maureen O'Neil and Jane Moffatt and sister-in-law Jarlath Fournier and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, John Mallinson, and son-in-law, Michael McCann.She loved all her grand dogs: Murphy, Remi, Cheech, and Sage.We would like to thank the Hospice staff at Beth Israel Lahey Health at Home for their compassion and support during the last two months, especially her primary caregivers, Janet and Julianna.Gerry requested that there be no formal services. Atkinson - Judy Anne Baldwin of Atkinson, NH, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA after a brave18-month battle with cancer.Judy was born on February 19, 1944 to Madeleine and Henry Freimuth and raised in Catonsville, MD along with her four siblings Kenneth, Karen, Mary and Joanne.Judy graduated from the Institute of Notre Dame in 1962, and received her Bachelor's degree in teaching from Mt. St. Agnes College in 1966. She later received her Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Loyola College. Judy married Gene Baldwin of Baltimore, MD on August 17, 1968, and they raised their three children Topher, Holly and Michael in Catonsville, MD. Judy and Gene re-located to Atkinson NH in 2008 to be closer to their grandchildren.Judy is survived by her children Topher Baldwin, Holly Simmons and Michael Baldwin, as well as her 5 grandchildren Madelyn Colozza, Ethan Baldwin, and Kiley, Devon and Darby Simmons.Judy was a well-loved member of both communities that she has lived in. She continued to remain in close touch with many high school and college friends in Baltimore and created an entire new network of friends when she moved to NH. She will be remembered for her love of teaching knitting, her daily presence at the Bryant Woods community pool, her kindness and generosity to her friends and neighbors, and the love she had for her family.A Celebration of Life will be held on June 15, 2024 at 1 p.m. at the Bryant Woods Clubhouse in Atkinson, NH.

Bedford - Edward C. Karp, 88, of Bedford, NH and formerly of Andover, MA peacefully passed away on April 14, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a period of declining health.Ed was born in Export, PA, on September 18, 1935, the son of the late Kooper and Helen (Borowiec) Karp. He was raised in Plum Boro, PA, as the second oldest of seven children. Ed proudly served in the Marines from 1953 to 1956 and graduated from Alliance College in Cambridge Springs, PA, in 1961. Prior to his retirement, he dedicated most of his professional life to the field of accounting.A devoted husband of 64 years, Ed was an incredible father and doting grandfather. He cherished time spent with his family, delighted in traveling, and found satisfaction in maintaining his home in Andover for over 47 years. Atkinson - As he had wanted, Bo died at home in the care of his family after more than a year long battle with MDS.He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Coyle) Patuto to whom he had been married for 43 years.He was born in Newton, MA the son of Wilma (Cotton) Patuto and Joseph P. Patuto, Sr. who moved the family to Atkinson in 1951. In 1962 Bo returned to Atkinson after serving in the Army and, following in his father's footsteps, joined Local 4 of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He retired in 2002 and filled his time with family, friends and involvement with the town of Atkinson. He derived great satisfaction from being an active Trustee of the Atkinson Cemetery for many years and as a member of the Atkinson Veteran's Club.In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert P. In 1972, she and her husband founded the Windham, NH based B&M Fence Co., a wholesale distributor of fencing materials. Joan served as the company's chief financial officer. B&M flourished and in 1990 was sold to a national firm. Joan was a licensed pilot, flying her own plane based at the Lawrence, MA, airport. She was an accomplished calligrapher, teaching the craft and skillfully addressing wedding invitations as a gift to relatives and friends. North Andover - Patricia Hope Edmonds, retired Secretary of the Academy at Phillips Academy in Andover, has died, aged 92. Born in Philadelphia, PA, in 1931, to Edwin Irving Hope and Helen Ahrnke Hope, she grew up in Wellesley, MA and attended local schools. As a young girl she began long involvement with Fleur de Lis Camp in New Hampshire, eventually serving as a counselor and rifle team coach. She excelled academically at Wellesley High School and then Mount Holyoke College, graduating A.B. in English Literature in 1953. She received her A.M.T. from Radcliffe and embarked upon her English teaching career at Natick High School in 1954. Summers, she led student groups with the Experiment in International Living to England, Mexico and Italy.In 1959 she met and married George Howard Edmonds, also an English teacher, and in 1961 they moved to Phillips Academy, Andover, where he joined the English Department with housemaster and coaching duties. Their first son was born that year on George's 30th birthday. A second son arrived in 1964.Pat became a very active faculty wife and Andover resident, raising her sons and taking leadership roles in the Academy's Ladies Benevolent Society, the Andover Garden Club and League of Women Voters.In 1970, she again taught English, this time at Abbot Academy. A 1971-72 sabbatical to England and the continent was a memorable year for her and the family. Upon return, then-Phillips Academy Headmaster Ted Sizer hired her to do development and fundraising work, in addition to being one of the first house counselors for girls upon co-education. Thus began a 20 plus-year career that raised millions of dollars for Phillips Academy and its different initiatives, among them: Bicentennial campaign, Addison Gallery, Math/Science program for minority students, and creation and oversight of the Andover Development Board. Ultimately, she was appointed Secretary of the Academy, leading the entire spectrum of development work for the school, but never losing sight of her roots as a teacher, lending her infectious and tireless optimism to educating colleagues and donors about the goals, values and accomplishments of Phillips Academy.Pat and her husband both retired in 1995 and embarked on two decades of travel and intellectual pursuits. She was especially devoted to Mount Holyoke and was an active board member for the Andover Memorial Hall Library and Family Services of the Merrimack Valley. They eventually moved to the Edgewood community in North Andover. George predeceased her in 2022. Pat kept his memory alive with family and the strong group of friends they had developed at Edgewood and throughout the world in their 62-year marriage. Michael was a talented stage actor in his youth and had a great passion for Musical Theatre and Broadway. She then attended Staley College in Brookline receiving her Bachelors Degree. A woman of strong faith, she was a lifelong member of the Riverside Church. The widow of the late Walter G. Leathe who died in 1982, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. After her husband's passing she met a companion of several years, David Chase until his passing in 2001 they enjoyed summers at Lake Ossipee in New Hampshire and traveling throughout New England. Methuen - Mr. Jacques Fournier, 85, of Methuen, passed away on April 14, 2024, at Boston Medical Center. The son to the late Albert and Imelda (Cote) Fournier, he was in Cabano, Canada, and moved to the Merrimack Valley in 1962. Mr. Fournier worked for many years as a maintenance man for the Lawrence housing Authority. He was a member of the Social Naturalization Club AKA the French Social, Knights of Columbus, Lawrence Civil War Memorial Guard, Lawrence Republican City Committee. Mr. Fournier picked potatoes in the 1950's in Northern Maine. Mr. Fournier moved to the United States in 1962 with his friend Lucien Plourde, then proudly became a United States citizen in May of 1971. And was awarded the Life Saving Medal in 2002 for saving children from drowning in the Merrimack River. He loved to spend time with his family, work on small projects in his treasured basem*nt and working in his garden. Jacques always made a lasting impression on anyone he met. Despite being a fair-skinned Irishman, he loved a perfect beach day, in his early years at Salisbury Beach and later as a regular at Cold Storage Beach in Dennis, MA. He was a passionate New England Patriots fan and loved college basketball, especially the Villanova Wildcats.Jim was an altar boy at St. Michael's Parish, and a graduate of North Andover High School and Lowell Technological Institute (now the University of Massachusetts, Lowell). He also earned an MBA from Northeastern University. He worked in Finance and Project Management for Textron Systems Corporation and Raytheon Technologies; he truly enjoyed his second career at Raytheon which led him to many new cities and taught him to maximize his road warrior status. He loved to travel for fun or for work and enjoyed the challenge of figuring out a new place.As a proud townie, he served on North Andover's town charter committee, and was dedicated to community service. On the weekends he could be found on the sidelines of many North Andover fields and courts, cheering on his kids, and later grandkids. He fondly reminisced of his days as the girls travel team soccer coach, often sharing that it was one of the most rewarding experiences that he shared with his girls and their friends.In retirement, he enjoyed meeting up with friends for coffee, walking around the neighborhood, monitoring the stock market, and exploring the "backroads" on drives around New England, and the Pacific Coast Highway in CA. He loved spending time with his family, especially at his favorite place - on the deck in his backyard at the Cape. His favorite time of day was "happy hour", ideally with a cold beer and a great sunset.Jim was a devout Catholic. Family was the most important thing to him and he is forever grateful for being included as a member of Karen's extended family which included the Armentis, Troianos, MacIlvanes, and Bourkes. Plaistow - John L. Negrotti, also known as Jake, aged 70, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Jake gave the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. Jake was born on February 23, 1954, in Newton, MA. He graduated from Somerville High School in 1973 and joined the Air Force, serving multiple tours overseas including Desert Storm as well as time in Pakistan and Iraq. He retired from the National Guard as a Master Sergeant. Jake was also the Athletic Facilities Manager at Northeastern University where he worked proudly for over 40 years. He was universally known around campus for his unmatched work ethic and his ability to keep the ice at Matthews Arena in perfect condition for his beloved hockey teams. It was hard to walk anywhere with Jake without being stopped by someone who knew and admired him. He loved Jimmy Buffett, watching college hockey, and buying donuts for his grandkids. More than anything, Jake was a devoted father, husband, grandfather, and friend. Groveland - Carroll Bentley Gustafson, Jr. died on December 6, 2023 at age 90, at Boston Medical Center, Boston, MA after a fall at home.Carroll, aka Gus, Guy and Ben, was born in Cambridge, MA on April 15, 1933. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll B. Gustafson, and Hildegarde A. Gustafson and his wife of 31 years, Carole Ann Moberg Gustafson. Surviving are his loving wife of 28 years, Kathleen Tucker-Gustafson, his children, Ben (Claudia), Sue (Kevin), and Beth (Tim). He loved and was proud of his grandchildren, Ashley (Mike), Ellie, Chase, Lucas, Miranda and Julia and was amazed to have two great-granddaughters, Nora and Emmy. He is survived by siblings, Emilie and her children and grandchildren, Peter (Judy), and David (Amefil), and by his in-law families, Robert, Mary, Paul, Brian and Joseph and their children and grandchildren.Gus was a faithful member of Groveland Congregational Church for 50 years. He was a joyful member of the adult and chime choirs, taught Sunday School, served terms as Trustee, Deacon and on many committees. A favorite role was as mentor to confirmation class members with whom he continued caring contacts. Maintaining the buildings and grounds of the church helped him stay healthy and vibrant. He thrived on creating community, sharing cooking skills at Easter breakfast and at July pig roasts, work with the Groveland Council on Aging, and spreading the joy of music with church choir and the Newburyport Choral Society. Andover - John L. Howard Jr. beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away April 3, 2024 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, surrounded by his loving family.John was born in Long Island City, NY in 1926 to John L. Howard Sr. and Bertha (Corella) Howard. His mother died in 1928 and John was blessed with his loving stepmom, Florence (Flynn) Howard. The family moved to Wallkill, NY when John was five and he spent his youth in the country. He worked summers on the New York Thruway. A wrestler, Golden Gloves boxer, and member of the New York State Guard, he volunteered for the Army during WWII. John served in the Philippines Feb. 1945 - Dec. 1946 with the US Army 615th Ordnance Ammunition Co. His story is in the Andover book Heroes Among US - Book IV WII. With a Staff Sergeant honorable discharge Dec. 1946, he attended the University of Iowa, earning more than the required PhD credits in physical education. He started a marketing career with Dupont in Newburgh, NY and was a ten-year member of the National Guard. When his best friend suffered a hunting accident and was admitted to Vassar Hospital, John met the love of his life, student nurse Ethel. They married in 1957 and cherished 67 years of marriage. Blessed with four children - Mariann, John, Linda and Nancy, the family moved several times to other states and finally Andover, Mass. He especially enjoyed coaching youth football, being president of Shawsheen PTO, an active member of Andover Triad and Andover Vets. A devoted family man, with a move to Texas in the offing, John declined. Later, becoming independent, he began marketing for US leather tanneries, supplying footwear manufacturers. With a great memory for names and faces, he enjoyed the warm welcome of his many business contacts. He spent decades in year-round business travel in the US and Canada. An expert skier, he embraced winter. Part of his heart remained with his alma mater, the University of Iowa. To the very end he was ready to recruit for his Hawkeyes, regaling nurses and doctors with anecdotes. John shared his motto, 'right is right and wrong is no man's right.' Strong and resilient, he worked in marketing until age 96. John treasured his family and his country, viewing every day as a promise for good in life and in the world. He started his journalism career as a reporter for the Eagle-Tribune newspaper in Lawrence and was part of a team of staff reporters that was nominated for the 1996 Pulitzer Prize for Spot News Reporting for coverage of the Malden Mills textile factory fire in 1995. He continued as a reporter working for the Hartford Courant, covering the JFK Jr. airplane crash off Cape Cod, the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York, and was part of a team of staff reporters that won the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting for coverage of the shooting rampage at the Connecticut lottery headquarters in Newington in 1998. Al was always proud of his Cuban heritage and mindful of his parents' struggles and sacrifices as immigrants which gave him and his sister better lives and opportunities in the United States. In 2000, the Hartford Courant sent Al on special assignment to Cuba to cover his parents' return to the island as a feature story entitled, "A Child of Cuba." He later focused on energy news which led to a position in media relations and communications at Eversource, formerly Northeast Utilities, for the last 20 years. His work at Eversource included handling media inquiries and press releases, storm response activities, transmission issues, company earnings, and assistance with the Special Olympics Winter Games and Hartford Marathon. Al was a lifelong learner and took interest in a wide range of subjects. He loved astronomy, history (especially World War II), art, airplanes, building models, boating, puttering in the yard, tending his blueberry bushes, relaxing in the hammock, and floating around the pool on a hot summer day. Al prided himself on keeping all kinds of old tools and scrap materials so he could fix any household problem. He was always on a quest for the perfect snow shovel or bug zapper. Al was also an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. His two sons Alex and Matthew were the love of his life. He reveled in helping them build giant models and intricate school craft projects or making elaborate Halloween costumes and Jack-o'-lanterns. He took pride in watching them both grow into successful young teenagers. In the last few years, he loved attending their cross country and track meets, sharing in their successes in these sports. When his sons were younger, he attended every soccer and little league baseball game. He was lucky enough to see his son, Alex attend Wesleyan University which brought him abundant pride. If you were lucky enough to know him, you know how incredibly special he was. He was a fighter up until the very end, and he did it with bravery and dignity. He passed peacefully, surrounded by the people he cared about most. We are beyond grateful to have been there with him, surrounding him with our love and support. Although our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Al is now free to explore the mysteries of the cosmos, as one of his passions was astronomy. He was an amazing father, husband, brother, friend, and neighbor. He will forever be missed and never forgotten. Deefield Beach - Miriam Elizabeth (Caram) Baderian passed away February 23, 2024, at Brookdale Senior Living in Deerfield Beach, Florida. She was born on December 23, 1948, beloved daughter of Thomas and Betty (Ahie) Caram in Lawrence, MA, and belonged to St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, before marrying the love of her life, Stephan Baderian, and relocating to Freeport, NY. Together, they raised twin daughters, Jennie and Jillian, the center of their lives.After moving to Ocoee, FL, they became integral parts of the community there, operating their own business, Two Sisters Distributing, being members of many civic organizations, and caring for Stephan's parents and sister. Dover - Donald Haarvig Hall died peacefully at home of natural causes on Sunday, March 31, 2024. Don was born in Fall River, MA on February 18, 1929. Don's wife of 72 years, Wilhemine, pre-deceased him in summer 2023.He graduated from Northeastern University in Thermodynamics Engineering. He spent his professional career at General Electric working on steam turbine design. He oversaw start-up of steam turbines around the world, which took him from Asia to Scandinavia, and was honored for inventions.His parents were musicians and taught him to play piano which became a lifelong joy. He tinkered with just about anything and built his first boat, a kayak, at about 12 years old. Later in life, he became an avid fly fisherman, introducing his family to the sport which became a hobby for all.Landing in Lynn MA at the start of his career in the 1950s, Don built the family home in Middleton, MA, where they stayed for nearly 40 years. They spent time in winter and summer at Purity Springs and King Pine Ski Resort and in the late 1960s he and Wil purchased land on Long Pond and built their home in Eaton Center, NH. They retired to Eaton in 1989 making friends throughout Eaton and the Mt. Washington Valley. Don and Wil took many cross-country camping trips; he loved reading maps, following dirt roads, and Wil loved painting as they went.He is survived by his brother Dana Hall (Pat), daughter Cynthia Hall (John Schmerfeld), son Ken Hall, grandchildren Kate Kane, Elisha Kane, Jonathan Schmerfeld, great-granddaughter Alea Williams, and many beloved nieces and nephews.A service will be held in Eaton, NH in fall 2024 when family and friends can gather. Newburyport - Roger Priest Fuller passed away on April 5, 2024. Roger was the son of Bradley and Marjorie (Colby) Fuller, born in Newburyport, MA on April 24, 1945, and was a lifelong Newburyport resident.Roger lived a full life, with a fun-loving personality, and was a friend, mentor, and coach to many. Roger was a lover of sports, and was an avid player of baseball, basketball, tennis, and golf. He was a fixture on the local tennis scene for many years, captaining a highly competitive men's doubles team at the Newburyport Racquet Club, and running the popular Yankee Homecoming Doubles Tournament in Newburyport. Later in life, he developed a passion for golf, and was a longtime member at Ould Newbury Golf Club. He was blessed with a great family and many great friendships. He loved to travel, exploring much of New England on summer family camping trips, including annual camping trips to Cooperstown, NY, many travels with lifelong friends on all sorts of adventures, trips to Australia to visit his daughter's family, and his cherished family trips to Walt Disney World.Roger graduated from Newburyport High School in 1963, and took great pride in being the President of the Class of '63. He played basketball and baseball for the Clippers, and enjoyed reminiscing about his basketball and baseball memories playing for the Clippers, at the YMCA, on the sandlot, and on local semipro baseball teams on which he played in the years after high school. He met his future wife, Judith (Page) Fuller at Newburyport High School, and they were married for 54 years. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. After college, Roger went on to teach in the Methuen High School Science Department for 34 years. In his early years of teaching, his summer job was running the Newburyport Playground System, and he enjoyed serving many of the future student athlete leaders of Newburyport. While teaching at Methuen, he took up coaching Cross-Country, Indoor Track & Field, and Spring Track & Field. He had a legendary 46-year coaching career for Methuen High School, and was a positive influence and mentor for many Ranger student athletes. He felt very fortunate to coach many great people, runners, and teams, and was proud of the success, tradition and fraternity of the Methuen track programs. He was inducted into the Massachusetts State Track Coaches Hall of Fame in 2013, and was recognized with numerous awards including the National Federation of State High School Coaches Association indoor track Northeast Coach of the Year in 2017. Roger is survived by his daughter Gretchen Yates, son-in-law David, and their children Bruce and Katelyn of Perth, Australia; his son Nathan Fuller, daughter-in-law Robyn, and their children Wilson, Isabella, Olivia, and Wren of Arlington, MA; his sister Barbara Page of Newbury, MA; and his brother Bradley Fuller and wife Joanne of Reading, MA. Dunlap, age 90, longtime resident of West Newbury, passed away peacefully at Bridges by EPOCH in Andover, next to his loving wife Margaret "Peggy" (MacGillivray), on March 22, 2024.Born on August 27, 1933, he was the only child of the late George and Helene (Hernon) Dunlap. He graduated from Belmont High School and received his undergraduate degree from Boston College and earned his Master's Degree from Salem State University. He then embarked on his journey as an educator leaving an indelible mark on countless students for 27 years. Paul taught both English and Social Studies at Doherty Middle School and the East Junior High School in Andover.Post-retirement Paul continued to stay active being a docent at both the Peabody Essex Museum and the Gardner Museum, along with being a tour guide at the State House and Boston Public Library.In addition to his dedication to education, Paul was a devoted family man, cherishing all his time at family gatherings. His inquisitive nature, thirst for information, countless sports conversations, and sense of humor brought joy to all who knew him. Paul could always be found with a newspaper under his arm, a crossword puzzle or the latest book.Paul enjoyed staying physically active whether it be playing golf, tennis, jogging, walking, swimming, and biking to stay in shape. He was always planning his next trip with his wife, Peggy. Andover - Dad was born in Methuen, Massachusetts on August 2, 1937. He was raised on Haggetts Pond Road in Andover by his parents, Andrew and Grace Innes. He spent his entire life in Andover. In his early years, he worked summer jobs on the farms of West Andover. In the early 1950's, He attended Phillips Academy in Andover for his High School years. During this time, he met his future bride, Barbara, at the First Presbyterian Church in Lawrence, where his mother was the organist. Mom and Dad attended many formal dates and school dances together in the 1950's and fell in love. They married on August 10, 1958. Mom and Dad celebrated 65 wonderful years of marriage in 2023. During the early years of their marriage, Dad enrolled in the ROTC program earning an Industrial engineering degree from Carnegie Tech in 1959. After graduation, Dad served in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant Combat Engineer in Europe during the early 1960's. After returning home, Mom and Dad built a house in Andover in 1965 where he and Mom raised their 3 sons where the family resides today. He was a wonderful father and made many special memories with his family. Our vacations included driving up the Atlantic coast, and canoeing and swimming in state parks in New Hampshire. Dad enjoyed his retirement years with his family. They took many drives thru New England and across the country. They visited many places in between including Duane's family in Washington State. Dad also enjoyed walking with Kevin very much. Starting in 2006 thru last year, these walking buddies greeted everyone in town that drove by. Each day they made sure you got a big waive, a "Good Morning" Greeting and a smile. Dad was a shining example of how to be the best husband, father, and neighbor. He had a friendly attitude towards everyone he met. He was very generous in providing for his family and never hesitated to provide a lending hand to anyone in need. Dad was a regular blood donor at the American Red Cross. Dad returned to be with God on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sisters. Bolton - William-Ernesto "Bill" Martin of Bolton, MA passed away peacefully on March 31, 2024, with his family lovingly by his side.Bill was born on December 28, 1970, to devoted parents William and Laura Martin of Andover, MA. He is survived by his daughter, Neve Martin, whom he affectionately called "Bucko," his beloved partner Michelle Morey Nelken, and bonus sons Jack and Ryan Nelken; younger brother John Martin and his wife, Tara of Brookline, MA; his dear friends Jeff and Lyndsey Valcourt and their children Nick and Olivia of Westford, MA; his three dogs, Alta, Emme, and Lexi; and several cousins and other dear relatives.Bill was a fun-loving, kind, and caring man who enjoyed skiing "super fast" and making people laugh. His travels included skiing all over the US (especially enjoying the back bowls), but perhaps his favorite destination was in Newport, RI surfing, bridge jumping, eating, and spending quality time with the Fab Five Fifth Ward gang.Forever allergic to anything remotely healthy or green, Bill enjoyed a good pizza "not too doughy and not too sweet" or a juicy burger followed by a nice cannoli.Bill had an enormous, generous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He could captivate any audience with his entertaining stories and jokes. He was loyal, witty, brave, and full to the brim with optimism.Bill was known for his competitive spirit and timeless words of wisdom, including "If you're not first you're last" and "Go get 'em!" To many, he will be remembered as the most successful youth soccer coach that Littleton has ever seen. Fans at ski races and hockey games will always remember his outspoken cheers for his three favorite players Neve, Jack, and Ryan.To know Bill was to know his family. Bill was in constant competition with Jack over who was the tallest member of the household, and he loved to practice front flips with Ryan at the pool. He was the utmost proud of the boys' accomplishments and their bright futures. Michelle was his rock, his "cutie," and his favorite person whom he loved deeply. Their love for one another was one of a kind, and the family they created together was irreplicable. She provided unconditional support for Bill and his loved ones through the hardships in the past year and a half. Neve, whom Bill touted as "his greatest accomplishment," shared hundreds of ski days, beach trips, and car rides together that created forever memories filled with lots of laughter. He truly embodied what it meant to be the world's best dad.Bill will be forever missed by all who knew him. Methuen - Marc Albert Lyonnais, 68, of Methuen, MA, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Lawrence General Hospital surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born on November 6, 1955, in Coaticook, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of the late René and Denise (Lemay) Lyonnais and the beloved husband of Maria (Giuffrida) Bevens.One of Marc's proudest moments was becoming a United States citizen. Whenever he came across a veteran or one presently serving in the military, as well a police officer or first responder he would always tell them, "Thank you for your service."Marc graduated from Northern Essex Community College with a degree in computer science and became a computer engineer. Earlier, he opened his own painting and wallpaper business and was self-employed as a painter. He never had to advertise, as word of mouth told how successful he was in this field. In his younger days, Marc was the store manager at Alexander's Supermarket in Manchester, NH, and Auto Palace.Marc grew up in Manchester, NH, where he would tell stories of being on the West High School football team along with Manchester friends and adventures.With a great love for music specifically rock and hard rock genres, Marc and his wife attended many rock concerts together. Another love was photography. He was a skilled photographer and sold many of his "Marc's Photos" photographs. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Maria, and they experienced many trips together, such as Aruba (engagement proposal) Bermuda, Disney Land, National Parks out west, Arcadia National Park and various day trips. They specifically cherished the many times they stayed at York Beach, Maine, and Hampton Beach, NH. March was an avid LA Rams football fan and was thrilled when they won the Super Bowl in 2000 and 2022. Guess who hosted the Super Bowl parties? Lawrence - Joseph Lewis Edwards, Jr., Esq., passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024. Born on July 26, 1954, in New York to his late parents, Joseph L. Edwards, Sr. and Emma Frances Theresa Baker Edwards, Joe later moved to Raleigh, NC.Joe attended North Carolina A&T State University to study music, also playing the French horn in the A&T Marching Band, now known as the Blue & Gold Marching Machine. After attending North Carolina A&T, Joe followed in the proud footsteps of his father and enlisted in the United States Navy.Joe graduated Cum Laude with his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Suffolk University Law School in 1993, where he served on the Law Review and was Vice President of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA). Joe's legal career spanned over 30 years, with a focus on employment and discrimination law. Joe was an accomplished attorney, legal advocate, trainer, teacher, writer, and litigator, receiving numerous accolades over the years, including being recognized in the 2024 edition of The Best Lawyers in America®, being named a "Stand-out Lawyer" by Thomson Reuters (2024), a "Go To Employment Attorney" by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (2021), among many others. For the past 23 years, Joe worked at Prince Lobel Tye LLP, one of the premier law firms in Boston, eventually rising to Partner. His diligence, determination, and progressive achievement elicit a sense of collective pride.Known affectionately by his family as "Joey", Joe is survived by his wife of 25 years, Saundra R. Edwards, Esq. along with his five children: Cole Edwards, Blake Edwards, Michael Edwards, Angela Edwards and Malaika Edwards. His legacy also extends to six grandchildren, six siblings and their spouses: Paul D. Edwards, Lorraine M. Mortis (Robert), David G. Edwards (Maribel), George E. Edwards, Beverly F. Edwards (Larry) and Theresa Edwards; and a host of nieces and nephews. Haverhill - Kathryn A. "Kathy" Beebie, 66, of Haverhill, passed away, peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at High Pointe House in Haverhill.Born in Lowell, MA on April 24, 1957, to the late Arthur J. and Mary T. (McCarthy) Beebie, Kathy was predeceased by her younger brother Richard Beebie who died in 1989.Kathy graduated high school from Mt. St. Mary Seminary with the Class of 1975. She went on to receive her bachelor's degree in psychology from University of New Hampshire and later her master's degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University/Keene Graduate Program. Kathy spent the majority of her career as a Clinical Team Leader/Supervisor at Thom Pentucket Early Intervention. She was a brilliant clinician, a compassionate advocate, and a well-respected and beloved family therapist who served hundreds of families over her 36-year career.Politically active and always informed, Kathy was passionate about women's rights and equality for all humans. In recent years, she was a proud member of the "Lefty Ladies", an informal group of local women who gather monthly to discuss current events and politics. She was an active volunteer and supporter of Greater Newburyport Ovarian Cancer Awareness and Ovations for the Cure. She especially valued her friendships with her community at Turning The Tide and looked forward to their annual retreats. These organizations along with the loving support of her friends and family, her amazing team of doctors and nurses at MGH, and her own indominable spirit, enabled Kathy to live with Stage 4 Ovarian cancer many years beyond her prognosis.Kathy loved researching her genealogy, reading mystery novels, swimming, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.Kathy's greatest pride and joy came from being a mom to her 2 sons whom she chose in 1995 and legally adopted in 1998. Their home in Bradford, MA was a place of unconditional love and support.Kathy is survived by her loving sons, Peter R. Beebie, and Sean D. Beebie, her faithful brother Sean A. Salem - Mary (Sidley) Dumond, 76, of Salem New Hampshire passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on March 22, 2024, at the Holy Family Hospital, after a long struggle with health challenges. Mary was the beloved wife of Richard Dumond with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. Loving mother of Jeffrey Dumond of Salem, NH and Jonathan Dumond of Lawrence, MA. Mary was born in Lawrence, Ma. She was the daughter of the late Walter A Sidley Jr and Dorothy Rita (McComiskey) Sidley. Loving sister of Walter A Sidley III and his wife Lucille of Salisbury, Katheen Nackley and her companion Thomas Sweeney of Salem, NH and the late John Sidley and his wife Judy of Kissimmee, Florida. Sister-in-law to Charles Dumond and his wife Karen of Falmouth, Maine. She leaves several nieces and nephews who enjoyed her laughter and spending Christmas at her festive home. Mary grew up in Lawrence Ma and their family home at Salisbury Beach. It was there that she met the love of her life Richard Dumond. She graduated from Lawrence High, attended Northeastern University and became a X-ray technician at Bon Secours Hospital. While their children were young, she went back to school and became a RN. She worked for 30 years as a certified psychiatric nurse and alcohol counselor at Hampstead Hospital until her retirement. While still working she was proud of the fact that she became a Justice of the Peace in Salem, NH. For many years she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and also the American Legion Auxiliary of Salem NH. Groveland - Diane D. Wilson, 80, resident of Groveland MA, died on April 7 peacefully after a long battle with dementia.She was born on June 14, 1943, daughter of Howard and Beverly Dutton, in Randolph, Vermont.Diane spent most of her younger days in Haverhill, MA, growing up at the family home located at the Haverhill Airport where Howard operated the Dutton Flying Service. As a girl, her adventurous side was in full display as she attained her pilot's license at the age of 17 and completed her first solo. She had the best of teachers as her father Howard was the 1941 US Aerobatics champion.It is at the airport where she met her husband of 59 years, Ronald Wilson, who rented space in one of the hangers to work on his automobiles. A few years after marrying, Di and Ron settled in Groveland on King Street and at Whitestone Village. She was a woman of many interests. Her adventurous side showed again when waterskiing as a youngster and later while skiing and mountain climbing (including the Alps on one of her favorite trips). Other pursuits included bowling, gardening, knitting, and sharing Ron's love of cars (in her case it was convertibles).Di's penchant for wanting to help others led her to nursing school at the Burbank hospital in Fitchburg, MA. Upon graduating as an LPN, she began her career at Mass General scrubbing in for open heart surgeries. She then settled into her career at the old Haverhill Municipal "Hale" Hospital. She served faithfully in various roles for over 40 years including nurse manager and case manager. As an example of her hard work and dedication, while working full time and raising a family, Diane attained her bachelor's degree in nursing in 1989 from Bradford College after years of part time classwork.Later in life, Diane became "Mimi" to her beloved grandchildren, David and Catherine. She absolutely beamed any time she was with the kids. She and "Grampy" were thrilled to host the kids at their house on King Street, in the summer when the pool was open. She enjoyed the various family trips to Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard and never hesitated to join in the action with the grandkids whether riding the big slides, swimming in the waves or cruising in the go-karts. She and Grampy were also regular attendees at sporting events, recitals, and other kid's activities. Surviving members of her family include her daughter Elizabeth Wilson of Groveland, MA; her son Dave Wilson and his wife Annie (Olsen) Wilson of Groveland, MA. She also leaves cherished grandchildren, David, Jr and Catherine Wilson. She is also survived by her loving brother David Dutton and his wife Marilyn, of Merrimac, MA and her brother-in-law, Frank Wilson, and his wife Janice Wilson. Amesbury - Marie A. (Borgesi) Underhill-Vercellini, 79, of Amesbury, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 6, 2024. She was born to Angelina (Scala) and John Borgesi, both of whom were born in Italy, on May 2, 1944, in Methuen, MA. She was the wife of Stephen Vercellini for over twenty years. Born and raised in the "Valley," Marie was a graduate of Tenney Memorial High School, class of 1962. She later graduated from Northern Essex Community College. She was employed by Wang Labs/Getronics and Compucom for over 24 years before retiring in 2007. She received numerous awards throughout the years for her hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. She was a lifelong member of St. Lucy Church where she taught CCD to children, and she later volunteered at Haverhill City Hall and schools in the area. Remembered as the most loving and caring individual, Marie was wonderfully wise, hilariously humorous, courageous, and compassionate. She touched the lives of all who were lucky enough to know her. She lived her life full of gratitude and love for all. She was a bright light even during challenging times. A devout Catholic with enduring faith who only chose to see the goodness and positivity in life. She loved music, dancing, going to the beach, casino, and concerts but most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren who were the loves of her life. She wanted everyone to know that being with her family were the "best" times of her life. She looked forward every year to the annual beach vacation with her children and grandchildren. Marie is survived by and will be greatly missed by her daughters, Lynn Underhill, and her husband, Doug Bonanno of Hampton, NH, Beth Mitchell, and her husband, Alberto Santiago of North Andover, MA, and Cathy Underhill of Bradford, MA; their late father, Richard "Dick" Underhill; siblings, Ann Evans and her husband Reese Evans of Newton, NH and Joseph Borgesi and his wife Lois Borgesi of Newton, NH; grandchildren, Katrina, Chantal, Jilli, Abby and Matty; and several nieces and nephews; and her husband Stephen's children and grandchildren. Danville - Richard E. Goldthwaite-fondly known as "Dick", age 90, passed away April 4, 2024 at the Oceanside Center in Hampton, NH from the beginning stages of memory issues. He was born August 7, 1933 in Exeter, NH, son of the late Everard Goldthwaite and Janice (Robinson) Goldthwaite.Dick grew up in Danville, NH and was one of three children in his family. He graduated from Sanborn Regional High School and from the University of NH earning his degree in horticulture. He enlisted into the United States Army serving in the Korean War where he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. There are pictures of Dick and Christine Beede starting from the early age of 3 holding hands. They were married on January 29, in the mid 1950's.. They were nearly residents of Danville for 70 years raising their three children there. Professionally, Dick's career was always in the automobile industry. He was a longtime auto mechanic for McGregor Smith in Haverhill, MA., and when the company expanded into Plaistow, NH with Truck Sales and Service Co, they asked Dick to be the Vice-President of Truck Sales. Dick and Christine travelled quite often for Dick's work in and outside of the United States. Dick's love for gardening extended beyond his profession, as he cultivated beautiful flowers and grew delicious vegetables in his spare time. He found joy in listening to holiday music and cherished moments spent with his family.Dick was a member of the Richard A.
