Yeah completely agree. Get him here and take our pack to another level again.
I can see Hunt asking for a release, potentially in exchange for another team's junior prospect somewhere like we did with Miller and Tracey.
BHU gets the 17th spot if fit and Toeby is the odd man out. But the likelihood of that pack always being available is low, so I can see him playing the same amount of games he would have anyway. Worst case he also agitates for a release, and our depth becomes Tuks and Colquhuon which is still elite, and we end up with a decent chunk of cap back.
Got to say I'm a bit over Toby. I wouldn't mind if he had a hissy fit and left.

I don’t think Hunt has quite the bargaining power to his signature as Miller and Tracey had, as well performing spine/versatile strike weapons.
Be pretty shrewd business to swap a fringe NRL prop excess to your requirements for a promising junior. Show us what you got Fitz and Mooney

I think in this day of professional sport every player should understand that better players are brought in , and I would be disappointed if someone threw a hissy fit , up your game and compete and get better so you keep or get your place back . Nothing beats competition for improving players , the only ones which don't improve are either lacking the ability or the mentality , either way they shouldn't hold a place because they were there first .
I'm sure AFB would start from the bench anyway and would have to earn the start , but players like Hazelton and Tuks , even Kaufusi would learn heaps off him .
He is a premier player and I think it's a compliment that he wants to join us .
TBH I think there is more to this than is coming out , we'll probably hear more over the next few days .

Our team culture seems way to strong to let it get damaged by doing something like adding AFB into the squad now
Look at sifa, put his hand up to move into the forwards as we were short on troops and has now lost his starting spot
Admitted publicly he would love to go back but instead of having a cry he has turned himself into a great impact forward

And as it stands we only have 2 bench forwards guaranteed a spot, Williams and sifa. Add AFB and that leaves sifa, Williams and the pool cue on the bench and the rest fighting for the number 17

In principle I agree but at the end of the day it is still young men (a demographic famous for bad decisions and egos) and further than that is young men many of whom grew up as the stars of their school/local team and also we are potentially talking about their jobs on the line to an extent for some, whose contacts and future contracts may be impacted also.
Trindall was willing to throw it all away when times were good, wouldn't be that shocking if someone was when actually slapped with some adversity.
Still a lot of unprofessional behaviours in professional sport!

Thought it was interesting that Ciraldo mentioned in his presser that they intentionally rotated their forwards selection for the last game just to help manage player workload. Shows some coaches are really thinking it's a 30 man squad.
Maybe that's the new reality... The top 30 is like your top 17's bench, possibly interchanged each week.

Not many teams have the depth to do this though

Or in their case, lack of quality starters.
Made me think of it because we do.

Yeah as long as we're not hit with a huge injury toll we'll be blessed for middles next year, what a luxury to be able to rest them.

I'd be happy to have him here early but I'll rely on Moons and Fitz to work out if it is feasible and I also trust them to know the mood of the squad and if it can be done without ruffling feathers. Plenty of other clubs have had mid season transfers so I don't see why anyone would begrudge us doing it, especially since he is going to be coming here.
Cos we are currently on top.
So, yes I could see it happening

i wouldnt say sifa has lost his starting spot he just did what was best for the squad. Iro woulda been playing off the bench doing what sifa does now if iro had the same versatility. the only thing between them is Iro is a better one on one tackler. sifa is a far superior attacking centre than kayal.
i applaud what sifas selfless act has done for the balance and good of the team but if it came down to only having one i know who i'd be choosing

What would you call it then? Renting it out, sub contracting, lending, taking a break?

Sounds more entertaining than watching a Tigers game.
